Stunting
1 out of 3 under 5 year olds in Indonesia are affected by stunting. Stunting is caused by chronic poor nutrition which is manifested by poor growth and reduced body height. Sufferers are also more likely to be afflicted by illnesses, sub-normal intelligence and low productivity. Hunger

Indonesia scores 22 on the index of hunger which is categorized as a serious level of hunger in the populace.

The elderly
The Ministry of Social Affairs records the number of elderly in Indonesia at 20.5 million
(over the age of 60) The number of those living in very poor circumstances is 2.1 millionwith a further 1.8 million at high risk.
This situation requires serious attention if these numbers are to be reduced in the future.
